"King Curly" (Self Release) 2000
The original defining collection of King Curly recordings was actually a combination of stuff recorded with Brendan Gallagher in his back room and also Greg Walker in his shack down in Coal Cliff NSW. To a quivering young fellow like myself, this first release seemed to cause abit of a stir in the coked up A&R circles and a few other more admirable folks with big reputations. Don Walker invited me over to his house to tell me he liked it which was clearly the highlight for that period.
This self-release led to the now out-of print:
"King Curly" (ABC / EMI) 2000
Things were looking pretty good for me. At a stretch, I could almost say there was a bidding war going on amongst record companies for King Curly. I decided to choose the ABC Music Label mainly because it impressed my mum because the associated TV station broadcast classy english serial adaptions of 'Pride And Prejudice'and the like. Things were looking pretty good for me.
