"I had a new album of songs but my new record label, Hot Records wanted the release to include what they saw as the most commercial of the previous recordings in a kind of 'best of' record overseas which became 'Familyman'. Hot looked good on paper at least. They had a world #1 record by the deceased Eva Cassidy and they even offered me an advance which was increasingly a rare thing amongst my starving musician friends - so I eagerly excepted though sadly as things panned out, that was to be the extent of their good will towards me. I think 'Familyman' is a very strong collection of songs as a result - documenting the best of what I did with Greg Walker in his little shack by the sea.
